Welcome to my first post!

I love cake stands! They’re one of my favorite pieces to create. They’re beautiful objects on their own, and can be used for so much more than just serving cakes! As you experiment with multiple techniques, your cake stands will reflect your personal style. And they offer almost endless surfaces to decorate…a part of the process I adore.

But, hand-building a cake stand can be a daunting endeavor. So when Pottery Making Illustrated reached out and asked me to write a Feature “how-to” article about my cake stands (complete with 18 process pics!) I jumped at the invitation.
